LSSA FY 2006 has served. This agency works almost exclusively with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The 29,555 clients served during the last fiscal year reflect a diversity of circumstances ranging from illness to economic dislocation. |

Medical Transportation LSSA has partnered with medical providers to assist clients in need of getting to and from their doctor’s appointments. During FY 2005 692 people were served with quick and safe transportation. |

Emergency Food Program In FY 2005-2006, the food distribution program of LSSA served 26,749 individuals. The largest number of clients (11,409) in this program continues to be under the age of 17. Since these young people receive subsidized breakfast and lunch at school during the academic year, the agency’s food program sees the most clients during the months of July and August. |

Emergency Voucher Program This program’s goal is to relieve barriers to employment. Clients receive vouchers for appropriate work clothing, identification cards, life-sustaining medication, bus passes and gas. During the month of August, funds are used exclusively for children needing school clothes. A total of 1,996 Anchorage area residents were assisted with direct support through Neighbor-to-Neighbor funds raised by Anchorage Daily News, a grant from LCMS, and donors. |

Association of Stranded Rural Alaskans in Anchorage ( ASRAA ) This program has provided during the last fiscal year a total of 75 individuals. (54 with return airfare to home villages, 19 with lodging, 1 with gasoline, and 1 with ground transportation.) |

Transitional Living Program In FY 2004-2005, 37 single homeless men received transitional living services. |

Volunteer Project SPRING - Easter baskets are provided by individuals and groups each year. A total of 591 children received baskets.
SUMMER - LSSA partnered with Catholic Social Services and the Salvation Army in a program called H.U.G.S.S. (Helping Us Give School Supplies) and Coats for kids. The three faith-based organizations have been able to meet the need of 20,268 students.
Fall - The agency’s Thanksgiving food basket project provided 721 families.
Winter - Christmas stocking were provides to 725 clients in December. The stockings contained the message of the birth of Christ. |
