Our food distribution program serves over 25,000 individuals annually. Clients receive USDA commodities and other supplemental food items. LSSA receives donations from individuals, congregations and civic groups. Our food pantry is staffed with a group of dedicated volunteers which allows to to server a large number of individuals four days a week. The largest number of clients in the program continues to be under the age of 17. Since these young people receive subsidized breakfast and lunch at school during the academic year, the agency's food program see the most clients during the months of July and August. Clients may come to the food pantry once a month, on any day of their choosing. In order to address the needs of the working poor, the agency also operates the program one evening a week. For seniors and children we can offer an additional government program, which is of help to many of our clients.
